Tour Plan

Day 01 Cairo Arrival

Upon arrival to the Cairo Airport our representative will meet you and assist
you with crossing the customs hall. After that you will be transferred to your
hotel where you will check in and stay in Cairo overnight

Day 02 Cairo - "Pyramids Tour" (Giza, Saqqara, Dahshur
  • At 8.00 am, after breakfast, our tour guide will wait for you in front of the
hotel and you will go with him to the Giza Plateau where you are about to
visit the impressive 3 Pyramids of Giza built by kings Cheops, Chephren
and Mikerinos which are guarded by the rock-cut statue – the Great
    Sphinx.
The Great Pyramid of King Cheops is the only wonder of the seven wonders
of the ancient world that is still standing today, despite being 2,000 years
older than any other wonder on the list.
After experiencing the pyramids you will go on a 20 minute Camel
    Ride around the Pyramids.
The next stop will be the Complex of Saqqara which belongs to King
Djoser and his step pyramid which is considered the first pyramid in Egypt
and the first rock-cut building in history.
After that you will be heading to Dahshur.
The pyramid field of Dahshur lies about 10 km south of Saqqara and it
includes the famous Bent and Red Pyramids built by the 4th Dynasty
king Sneferu (father of Khufu – the builder of the Great Pyramid of Giza).
The Bent Pyramid is the second funerary monument of King Sneferu
    after the Meidum Pyramid.
The reason for its shape is that it was originally designed to rise at the angle of
52° but was later decreased to 43.5° partway up. They’ve also built a girdle
around the base because the foundations were unstable and the angle was too
    steep.
The Red Pyramid, Sneferu’s third funerary monument, is the first
successful true (straight-sided) pyramid ever built. It’s called the red pyramid
because of the reddish color of the stones used in its construction.
After finishing the tour you will be transferred back to your hotel in Cairo
Day 03 Flight to Luxor - "East Bank Tour”

After checking out of your hotel, you will be transferred to the Cairo airport to
catch your flight to Luxor.
Upon the morning arrival to Luxor you will be transferred to the site of the
two Massive temples on the eastern bank of the Nile.
The first one is Karnak Temple – a complex which comprises a vast mix of
temples, chapels, pylons, and other buildings.
Building at the complex began during the reign of Senusret I in the Middle
Kingdom and continued into the Ptolemaic Period. It’s a vast open-air
museum, and the second largest ancient religious site in the world. It’s mainly
a place to worship the Theban triad (Gods Amon, his consort Mut and their
son Khonsu).
The second is Luxor Temple.
It is believed that the ancient Egyptian’s festivals were held inside the temple
as there are different scenes on the walls representing the celebration of the
festivals. Its inner part was built by King Amenhotep III while the outer part
was built by King Ramses II.
After entering the temple you will find a mosque called (Abu Al-Haggag)
which was built on the ruins of a church which was built inside the temple.
To the rear of the temple there are chapels built by King Thutmose III and
Alexander the Great.
Then you will be going to the hotel to check in and stay overnight in Luxor.

Day 04 Luxor - "West Bank Tour"

After breakfast, you will be picked up to go visit the archaeological sites of the
Ancient Egyptians on the West bank of the Nile including:
Valley of the Kings where you can see the well preserved tombs belonging
to the kings of the new kingdom (like the great ruler Ramses II and the child
king Tut Ankh Amon).
The Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut which is called “the Holy of
Holies”. It is one the best architectural constructions, consisting of three levels
connected with each other by ramps. It has different scenes on its walls
depicting the divine birth of the Queen and her commercial expedition to the
land of Punt. The temple is mainly dedicated to worship the supreme god
Amon-Ra.
The 2 Colossi of Memnon which are two massive statues representing
King Amenhotep III in a seating Position.
After that you will be transferred back to the hotel and stay another night in
Luxor.

Day 05 Flight to Cairo and a Cairo Day Tour

After breakfast in your hotel you will go to the Luxor International Airport to
take the flight back to Cairo.
After reaching Cairo our tour guide will escort you to continue your journey
through the history, starting with the Egyptian Museum of
Antiquities which was built in 1902 and it exhibits a large number of items
and treasures (exceeding 120,000 masterpieces) dating back to the ancient
Egyptian period and Greco-Roman period. Among them is also the marvelous
collection of the child king Tut Ankh Amon.
After that you will be transferred to one of the most stunning constructions in
Cairo “The Citadel of Saladin Al Ayouby”. It was built in the 12th century
to fortify the city of Cairo against the Crusaders.
The citadel was used as the seat of the king and his government in Egypt for
many centuries and many dynasties including the Ayyubids, the Mamluks and
even some Ottomans ruled over Egypt from the Citadel.
You will also visit the Great Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali
Pasha which stands proudly on the highest point inside the courtyard of the
Citadel of Saladin. It is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Cairo with
its beautiful decorations on its walls and its remarkable domes and minarets.
After that you will visit the “Islamic Cairo” and take a walking tour in the
1000 years old “El Moez” Street which is considered as an open air
museum.
There you will see the terrific Islamic buildings which are decorated with
different patterns and paints.
You will end your tour with a visit to Khan el Khalili Bazaar which is one of
Cairo’s main attractions. The district of Khan el Khalili was originally a
mausoleum called “el Zaafran” for the burial of Fatimid Caliphs, after that it
became a district for the Turkish community during the Ottoman period and
now it is a bazaar where you will find many souvenir shops, coffee houses
serving Arabic coffee and offering Hookah “Shisha” as well as restaurants
throughout the area.
After that you will be transferred back to the hotel to stay in Cairo overnight.

Day 06 Cairo/ Alexandria / Cairo:

Around 7.00 am you will be escorted by an air conditioned vehicle from
your hotel to Alexandria (about 3.5 hours driving).
You will meet with your tour guide in Alexandria and start to discover the
beauty of the Greco-Roman civilization.
First you will visit the catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa which are considered
one of the wonders of the middle ages. It’s the largest known Roman burial
site in Egypt, with three tiers of tombs that could accommodate up to 300
corpses. The cemetery originally was dug to be a private cemetery for one
family but later it was converted to be a public cemetery.
The architecture of the tombs mirrors Greco-Roman style. This can be seen in
the wall decoration which shows a unique combination of Egyptian, Greek,
and Roman artistic traditions. People are buried here in sarcophagi, in shelves
and in urns of ashes after cremation.
After that you are going to visit The Roman Amphitheatre which is located
in the heart of Alexandria. Kom el-Dikka is an extensive Roman theatrical and
residential complex. It includes the only known Roman amphitheater in
Egypt, an impressively well-preserved structure composed of thirteen
terraces. This was constructed in the traditional Greek style.
Then you will go to a photo stop at Qaitbay’s Citadel which is considered
one of the most important defensive strongholds, not only in Egypt, but also
along the Mediterranean Sea coast.
It used to be an important part of the fortification system of Alexandria in the
15th century A.D. The Citadel is situated at the entrance of the eastern
harbour on the eastern point of the Pharos Island. It was erected on the exact
site of the famous Lighthouse of Alexandria, which was one of the Seven
Wonders of the Ancient World.
We will end our amazing tour by visiting the Modern Alexandria Library –
its open court + free museums.
* Entry Tickets are currently limited and depending on the
availability of the tickets upon arrival at the library.
You can decide to purchase the entry ticket or just take a photo
stop if there are no tickets available.
The Old library was very famous all over the world for its huge books capacity
of different sciences and literature. It was damaged several times during the
Greco-Roman period until it vanished. The beginning of reconstruction of the
library started in the late 80s of the last century. The design of the modern
library of Alexandria consists of four underground stores and six upper stores.
The special shape of the modern library of Alexandria is considered a special
architectural gem.
Then you will be transferred back to Cairo to stay there overnight. You will
arrive to Cairo around 18.00 – 19.00.

Day 07 Final Departure

After breakfast you will check out of the hotel and we will transfer you to the
Cairo Airport for your departure.
